Nick’s artworks transcend classification as photographs, having the gravitas to motivate both science institutions and art galleries to acquire them. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London has commissioned him to create a series of photographs of their fashion collection as well as an immensely detailed mini as an example of a classic design seen from the inside. They have recently added his work to the British National Collection of Photography.
Nick’s lenticular portraits use a ribbed lens which refracts light from different angles. Multiple images are split behind the lenticular lens to create animation, which adds an element of playfulness to his images of the human form.
The classic images are also available as lightboxes which accentuate their x-ray concept.
